Hi, my name is Petra, and I am a licensed guide from Vela Luka, a small town located on the island of Korcula. I was born and raised here, but at the age of 19, I moved to a larger city to pursue my studies. Living away from home made me realize how unique it is to grow up in a small island community. As a journalist by profession, I have always been passionate about storytelling. Now, I would love to share some of those island stories with you.
The tour is a blend of ethnography, archaeology, and contemporary subjects, all wrapped in memorable stories that help you feel and understand the local community better.

We start with a 30-minute walk to Vela Spila, following a scenic path overlooking the bay. After exploring the cave, we’ll take a short coffee break. Next, we head to Kopila, the ancient hilltop settlement once home to the Illyrians.

FLAVORS OF KORCULA
Korčula is best known for its extra virgin olive oil and indigenous wines.
On this private tour, you’ll visit a local olive mill, where the producer will share the secrets of traditional olive oil making. Of course, you’ll also learn how to choose the right bottle. We’ll taste local oils and visit the largest olive grove on any Croatian island. After olive oil, we’ll move on to a curated wine tasting at a local wine bar. Four carefully selected wines, each paired with a small bite, will take your palate on a journey through the flavors of Korčula.

Vela Spila Cave is situated on a hill, 130 m above sea level. The tours are not demanding but involve approx. 20 minutes of hiking so the travelers are advised to have a moderate physical fitness level. We maintain a leisurely pace.
Please take with you a bottle of water.
The tour is not recommended for those with serious heart or mobility issues.
